A visit marked by expertise and trust.

This week, Kalstein France was pleased to welcome Sujith Menon, Operations Director of Synergy Medica, an Indian company specialized in medical equipment distribution, to its offices.

Who is Synergy Medica?

Founded in 2018 in Delhi, the Synergy group is now present in 7 major Indian cities and employs around 200 people. The company, led by a board of seven directors, runs 5 clinics and 2 hospitals specializing in IVF and dermatology, while also supporting other institutions in building their own care centers.

From Biomedical Engineering to a Calling

A biomedical engineer by training, Sujith Menon shares that his commitment to the sector was born from a personal experience: about ten years ago, faced with a medical emergency at a public hospital, he witnessed firsthand how a lack of reliable equipment prevented doctors from making an accurate diagnosis. That experience shaped his entire career, driving him toward sourcing quality equipment, first from American and German suppliers.

Today, he holds a unique role within Synergy: the bridge between India and Europe. Splitting his time between India and Europe on a monthly basis, and drawing on five years of professional experience in Germany and Poland, he's the one who sources the equipment that the group's Indian hospitals need from Europe.

One Red Line: Never Sacrifice Quality for Price

Asked about the company's values, Mr. Menon is unequivocal: "We are not ready to compromise on price, because we are not ready to put the client at risk by offering a low-cost product." A principle that carries real weight given the Indian context he describes: only 10% of the population has health insurance coverage, and most patients must pay for their care out of pocket a financial and vital risk that Synergy Medica works to reduce by guaranteeing the reliability of its equipment.

The group also relies on a strong network: two of its directors come from AIIMS in Delhi, one of India's most prestigious medical institutes, which has allowed Synergy Medica to bring together a community of around fifty partner hospitals across the country.

A Dermatology Market in Generational Transformation

On the choice to position strongly in dermatology, Mr. Menon points to a generational shift in mindset: while his parents never set foot in a beauty institute, he already sees his own daughter far more inclined to invest in self-care. A strong signal, in his view, of the growth this market is set to see in India.

The Long-Term Vision

Asked about his ambitions, Mr. Menon sums up Synergy Medica's goal simply: to establish a quality private hospital in every major Indian city, so that no patient is ever denied proper treatment for lack of means or access.

What's Next?

This first meeting paves the way for promising business synergies between Kalstein and Synergy Medica. A first step toward a lasting partnership.
